Have you met Dr. Lydia Rolita?

If you haven’t already met Dr. Lydia Rolita, allow me to introduce her!

Dr. Rolita is a board-certified geriatrician and family medicine physician with over 20 years of experience specializing in elder care.

Home visits have been her specialty since she began her practice, a commitment solidified during her time as the Head of Geriatrics Research at NYU, where she conducted studies specifically focused on preventing falls in the home environment.

Her practice experience spans New York, Southeast Asia, and eventually here in Hawaiʻi where she brought her expertise home to where her family is from originally. She has been conducting local home visits through the VA and private companies on Oahu since 2020, focusing specifically on improving the quality of life for our kūpuna.

Her independent practice, Silver Fox Senior Care, focuses on home visits, allowing her to examine the living environment firsthand, assess for fall risks and mobility issues, and suggest specific, low-cost interventions that nurture healthy aging.

If you have tried to schedule an appointment with a geriatrician recently, you know the waiting list on Oʻahu often exceeds six months to a year. Many of our neighbors on the outer islands have no local access to this specialty at all.  Dr. Lydia’s mission is to bridge this gap by offering timely, expert, and personalized care directly where it is needed most. She is available to travel around Oʻahu and to the outer islands as necessary.
