July Updates
I’m back in Honolulu and so excited to work out with you again!
We have some exciting news: our senior women’s strength and conditioning classes are now open to all women at OCC. These sessions are all about helping women of all ages feel stronger, healthier, and more energized. Don't worry about your current fitness level—every exercise can be tailored to make sure you feel both comfortable and challenged. From beginners to lifelong athletes, everyone is welcome!
And your instructors are…..
The OCC Wednesday morning classes will be taught by Jill (no charge). Alana will continue to teach our Friday morning classes - $10 per session. As a reminder, classes begin at 9:30 a.m. sharp.
The Triangle Park Private classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. (The class is currently full.)
Circuit training classes for small groups of up to 4 in the OCC gym will be available to OCC women – no charge. Please contact Jill for more information.
Nalani will continue to sub when Jill and Alana are unavailable. Again, a huge thanks to Nalani for her help!
What to bring to group classes:
Yoga mat
Light hand weights (3–5 lbs.)
Ankle weights (2–5 lbs.)
A resistance band
Tennis ball
Water
If you are new to the OCC classes and just want to try it out, don't worry—we will bring extra equipment which you are welcome to borrow until you get your own.
**As a reminder, your safety is our top priority. If you have any acute or chronic conditions, please let Jill or Alana know before class so they can show you how to modify the movements. If you feel lightheaded, nauseated, dizzy, or if you are in pain at any point, stop immediately and sit down. This is a supportive environment, not a competition, and we all have days where we need to take it easy.
Goodbye NOVA, and hello Crozet!
Jill has officially moved out of the Washington, D.C. area and will be residing in Crozet, Virginia during the fall and spring. Starting this October, she is excited to offer fitness classes specifically for senior women in the Crozet community. Stay tuned—more information will follow soon!
